Bryan is a lawyer and counselor whose focus is advising clients on technology and intellectual property issues. He is admitted to practice law in a number of jurisdictions and has set up legal practices in Singapore and Washington State, USA to advise startup and established clients in the hi-tech industry.
With his deep understanding of technology, and his corporate experience in Asia Pacific and the US, Bryan has developed a particular expertise in negotiating and closing high value transactions; taking products from concept to market; providing advice to clients relating to software development, competition law, privacy concerns and the provision of online services; and acquisition or disposition of corporate assets.
Bryan brings insights and experience from the positions he held at Microsoft and IBM. At Microsoft, Bryan was the lead lawyer for the Windows division and dealt with the legal issues relating to all Windows products. At IBM, Bryan was largely responsible for the integration of Lotus (an acquired public company) into IBM. He worked for IBM both in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Singapore. In Singapore, he was the Asia Pacific regional counsel and was later promoted to be the Asia Pacific CFO for Lotus.
In addition to his corporate experience, Bryan has extensive experience in setting up a corporate presence in Asia. At the start of his legal career, Bryan had a busy litigation practice at a large Singapore law firm, KhattarWong, focusing mainly on intellectual property enforcement. He later managed a number of enforcement programs in Asia on behalf of the Business Software Alliance.
Bryan believes in developing long term relationships of trust with his clients. He has been a trusted counselor for numerous executives in navigating them through complex legal concerns. Every client relationship is treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Bryan was born and educated in Singapore. He spends his time between Asia and the United States depending on the needs of his clients.
